Shopping! (again)

As you all know, I hit the shops today! So I thought I’d share with you some fabulous pictures! It was a very successful shopping trip thank god. Only 3 weeks 4 days after all right? So enjoy viewing my day….

My fetish for shoes continues! In Miss Selfridge, Emma and I couldn't help but run towards the shoes! Matching of course!

Three gorgeous dresses! I love Eli’s midi here, because I have a thing for midis at the moment! Love the colour of Emma’s dress… how cute is that dress?  And I adored my oriental dress, but for some reason it didn’t quite work for me! Still love the feel of it though! All from Miss Selfridge!

Admittedly, this dress was a little bit of a squidge! But, look at it! I’m in love… maybe a size 8 would have been more appropriate though! I felt super Christmassy in this dress! Bring on parties! This is from topshop! 

Turbans! Loved it when Carrie Bradshaw wore one! Not so much when Poppy wore one! As we can see, turbans are not my thing! Fabulous turbans from River Island!

The day off!!!!

3 weeks 5 days! (Yes I will include this date every post!) So the strike means that the fabulous we get the day off of school! How fab? So I am indulging myself in a day of Crimble shopping! I'm hitting Meadowhall early and just shopping all day! So, I'm looking for a fabulous outfit to go with my heavy duty shopping! So first of all it has to be comfortable, has to look cute and has to be easy to get off (for trying lots and lots of dresses on!) So, I am planning on wearing my life savers (ankle boots) with my cute tweed shorts from newlook, my Miss. Selfridge stripey top and my thick AWear jumper with my gorg Dorthy Perkins earmuffs! And for an added bit of glammer I'll curl my hair! I'd say to you that I'll promise to post an image of this outfit tommorrow, but as you all know my camera is terrible! I love it to death, but it does not get along with batteries! I am so excited for my day of shopping! And fingers crossed I'll get lots and lots or my prezzies bought! After all, 3 weeks 5 days! xoxo

Tick tock tick tock...

And so the countdown begins! 3 weeks, 6 days till Christmas! 3 weeks 6 days until all my family gather in our tiny house smiling and laughing! Oooh I do love Christmas! I have a tiny coffession! I know that there's a secret rule when it comes to Christmas songs. They're allowed from the 1st of December and that's it! But, I've already started listening to Crimble songs! Half of me feels like I'm betraying Christmas, but half of me can't wait! I honestly am so excited for Christmas! Giving people presents, stuffing yourself to the max, waking up ridculously early! At Christmas, it feels like I'm 6 all over again! And it's not just Christmas I love! Christmas eve: when all my family goes to Church...carols by candle light! It sounds cheesey, but it's so amazing. It kind of sums up Christmas! How many times have I said Christmas? I don't know if you cant tell, but I cannot wait until Crimble!!!! Yay!

Another lazy day!

May I just say before I begin… 4 weeks to Crimble! Another lazy Sunday. But, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy my weekends. If you’re a regular reader, you’ll probably be getting the impression that I don’t do much on Sundays! And you’d be right! Unless I’m out with my friends, I tend to be baking or watching films during my weekends. This was no different this weekend! This week I baked brownies, which are so rich they’re sickly! And watched the time traveller’s wife and Chicago which for some reason I had not watched before! I absolutely adore all things musical, and as a drama student I often get to go on trips to the West end! And I can now add Chicago to my library of musicals! I found the film very touching, but still couldn’t help, but sing along with the songs! I do have one complaint about the time traveller’s wife! No one warned me that it was sad! I had an idea that it might have been, but I was looking forward to a good chick flick! But, I ended up sat there, staring at my TV screen with tears rolling down my face. I’m not going to ruin this film, but for anyone who hasn’t watched it (and is a bit soppy like me!) Do not watch this without a good layer of waterproof mascara on and a big box of tissues! Basically, if your friends are all busy and you really want to be on your own, try my method of passing the time: baking and films! It’s a match made in heaven! Xoxo

Love...

Love. My definition of the word is a feeling that is so strong that you can't possibly fight it. Love. Everyone has a love. Whether it's love for another person, or love for your work, or even just a passion that you're absolutely in love with. And if you do feel love, then you'll know that you can't ignore it. If you do try and fight love? Then it doesn't matter, because what ever happens, that feeling is still there. It's still in your heart, because the love we feel, is supposed to be there. We don't feel love for no reason. Everyone who has been in love or who has a love knows that it hovers around with them. Never being able to quite leave them alone. Always at the back of their minds. Constantly encapturing their thoughts. It's there for a reason. And ignoring it will help no one. The word love has been used so many times. In love stories, in films and in life. In fact, the word love can seem old fashioned. But, isn't that the beauty of it? Love. It's so strong, you can't ignore it. It's been around for years and will consequently out live you.

Changes.

Four seasons. Every year our seasons change from Spring to Summer, Autumn to Winter. We all have a favourite season, but it's impossible to stay in that season. If it was I'd be stuck in the season where leaves would be falling off the trees all year round. And if we did get stuck in the seasons, we'd never move on. And if we never move on then we get left behind. Stuck amongst the leaves, whilst everyone else moves along and is enjoying the snow. So if we don't follow trends we end up outdated. And if we never grow up, we'll be the immature child at the back of the class. I have never been a fan of changes. They always seem too daunting or just plain wrong. But, what if this nudge gives us what we need? Do we push it away because it's not what we want or do we accept this change with open arms because one way or another it will shape us into who we are destined to be? I say, however scary it may we should take that leap. If we don't we'll just be sat there watching our friends move on whilst we helplessly sit there. So take that leap and try not to get stuck in Autumn! xoxo

New hair!

I don't know what it is, but getting my hair cut, seems to put me in a really happy mood! It's a new turn. A new you. A new chance. I love experimenting with my hair, constantly heating it and attacking it with hairspray, which probably isn't the best thing to do for my hair! But, I can't help it! Once you start, you get hooked! So, I went to get my hair cut today with my lovely sister Molly. I have had my full fringe put back in for anyone who was wondering (which I'm sure you weren't but hey) and I've fallen in love with it all over again! Not only was it my new hair that made me smile, but the chance to spend time with Molly. I hardly ever go out with her, but for some reason around Christmas we go out together a lot more. Whether it's a last minute haircut, or nipping to see a film, we spend lots of time together! And soon we're going christmas shopping! Who can turn down a good chirstmas shop? Not me! A chance to wander around the shops, singing songs and spending time with my sister! I would never turn it down! Happy christmas shopping xoxo

Modelling...fake?

I've just finished watching America's next top model! The glamorous life of a model! Or it would seem not in these model's cases. Constantly travelling up and down the country. Constantly getting criticised for the way they look. Constantly having to act cheerful! Maybe this glamorous life isn't so glamorous? These girls are constantly telling each other that they're fake and that the act they're trying to pull just isn't working. But is it possible to be fake? If a person acts all smiley for the cameras, but as soon as they're off they turn, does this mean that they're fake? Surely this is just who they are? Someone who tries to act up to the cameras and tries to look picture perfect to the public. And if that's being fake, then are we all fake? I can honestly say that I've never met anyone who doesn't change in certain situations. If we turned up to a job interview and talked to them like we talk to our friends, then we would not get the job. But, I don't think this makes us fake. So if a model went to a public outing and acted all smiley and happy, does this mean they're fake? Or does it just mean they're trying to please people? You tell me.

At the moment, I'm wishing for a thousand things! In my wardrobe lies an extraordinary amount of dresses; in my closet there are tons of shoes; in my draw dozens of little pretty tops. And I want more! I have the fashion bug! When you have the urge to go on a shopping spree, nothing will stop you. Nothing will stop you from rummaging through those websites and pressing your noses up to that gorgeous window display. Fashion is our life. It surrounds us, therefore if you're not up to date, you're not living your life to the max! Which is why I need to do some much needed shopping! And I have my eye on several items. The perfect cape coat from Dorothy Perkins, which I first saw whilst shopping at meadowhall! I've been waiting for it to hit the sales for about a month and still no luck! But, I'm determined that I will have that coat before it's sold out! Soon I will be strutting my stuff in the Dorothy Perkins cape coat! Also, I'm in need of a new bag! I currently own hundreds of bags (no exaggeration) but so many are out of style! I'm currently relying on my warehouse bag and my topshop satchel, but they can't carry this burden forever! It's just too much work, and I'm feeling rather sorry for them! So, I need this asos bag! It's fabulous and would go with all of my outfits with enough room for me to carry everything in! And we all know that I like to carry everything and the kitchen sink around with me! Another accessory I may just need to buy soon is the Poppy ring from Daisy Jewellery! I currently own a beautiful floral ring and a bee ring from there and I'm stacking away, hence the urge for a new one! And lastly, but nowhere near least is the gorgeous embroided spot midi! I have a bit of a thing for midis at the moment, and refuse to let this trend pass me by! I swear this dress

Shoes!

Does anyone else have a fetish for shoes? I do! I absolutely adore them! In any shape and size I'm willing to squish my feet into them! If they're too high I'll wobble along; if they're to thin, I'll squeeze my toes together! But, my foot will fit in that shoe! I love searching through shoe websites, constantly browsing through designer shoes that I could never possibly afford. Whenever I walk past the Kurt Geiger shop, I'm drawn in like gravity! Shoes will never let me down!  And now I’m currently looking for the perfect pair of red stilettos! The perfect image is in my mind of this perfect shoe! Trust me, they are gorgeous! But, how hard are they to find? Impossible! I’ve seen a gorgeous shape; the right red; the right heal height. But never are these on the same design! The closest I found to perfect were from Dorothy Perkins and now they’re sold out! If you see something you have to have, buy it there and then! Although having said that I do like the ASOS pair! So, now I’m scouring websites and shops looking for this red stiletto. I’ve stared in shop windows I’ve never heard of and walked through all the big shops: House of Fraser, Debenhams, you know the sort! It’s my impossible task. Why don’t they stock my red? I absolutely need this shoe, so if anyone sees this piece of my imagination out there in the high street, please let me know! I’m crazy for shoes!

Something borrowed

Just finished watching something borrowed; it was amazing! If you don't believe in love after watching that, then there must be something wrong with you! It's because of that film that I began to think: why do we never do what we want? We all have the ability to control our lives, but for some reason we never do what we want. We're always doing what we think is right or what would benefit other people more. But, we never think about ourselves. Constantly trying to please other people, you cannot tell me that you've never wondered what if? What if you'd have chose differently? What if you'd have done what you wanted to do and not what you knew you should have done. Would our lives have turned out differently? So why don't we all stop worrying what people think of us and for once do we want to do. Because, in the end, it's not their life, it's ours.

Shopping with the gals!

And guys (but that doesn't sound as good!) Finally I got to wear my Henry Holland dress, but unfortunately the light was dreadful and then my ever so trusty camera decided it wasn't having any of it! So, again it isn't the best picture, but it is better than the last one! I will continue to update you on this dress though, because quite frankly, I'm just in love with it, if you haven't worked that out yet! So, we went to Meadowhall today to watch breaking dawn! I've read all of the twilight saga and seen all of the films as of yet, practically as soon as they come out! How can you not love twilight? This film did not dissapoint either! I loved it and the inner twilight geek came out of me! Btw I'm team Edward (although I have nothing against Jacob!) So, we shopped, we watched a film, but I must say the best part of my day was my trip to starbucks! I absolutely adore their peppermint mochas and haven't had one in ages! It was beautiful! Having said that, I also enjoyed getting in a christmasey mood, walking around meadowhall singing christmas songs. Hopefully, it's close enough to christmas to not get a million years of bad luck! We did get some odd looks, but now I am in a totally christmas mood and cannot wait for it to snow! Bring on Christmas!!! xoxo

Inspire...

We all aim to inspire someone and we all have someone we aspire to be. So, I thought I'd share with you one person who is really inspiring to me at the moment!

Florence Welch

Florence Welch, from Florence & the machine, has the most beautiful voice, I think I’ve ever heard. And yet it is so unique! But, it doesn’t just stop at her voice, it continues into her fashion. Her quirky, out there style just makes me want to dress in baggy blouses and maxis all my life. She dresses freely, and when she sings, I feel truly free. In her video: What the water gave me, her outfits are so natural and beautiful! She sings her heart out and dresses like an angel. I adore her! Also, I must say, I love her hair colour!

And what if I never get to inspire someone the way she inspires me? So what? Because I'd like to think that I inspire myself as much as anyone!

Paint me pretty!

For some reason, I've become really excitable about painting my nails! I'm really excited! I've spent weeks and weeks growing, filing and buffing my nails so that they're perfect for this weekend! And finally I'm going to paint them! I'm wearing my spotty Peter Pan collar dress tomorrow from Dorothy Perkins, as it's non uniform day and on Saturday I'm wearing my Henry Holland dress (that I'm in love with). So I need my nails to match both days. I've gone for all sorts of combos in the past red and grey, grey with plum tips (see picture), plain red, and every nail varnish colour I own at once! I just love painting my nails: your nails are one of your best accessories! I thought about my outfits and I decided to match my red Henry Holland dress with plum nails, so that it will contrast with my blue dress tomorrow! I'm super excited! Did I not mention that? So get creative with your nails, it's so fun!

It’s in the way she moves. We’ve all been there. Just walking down the street, when you see an outfit that moves so beautifully, you just wish you had been that much of a genius. I adopted my love for fabrics that move amazingly, when I saw an interview with Sarah Jessica Parker, whom said that Patricia Field had told her that fabric was there for a reason. That reason was not just to hang, but to move gracefully along with your strut. With a great pair of heals and a fitted top, the skirt must move amazingly. I love the contrast of colours that is in the Oscar de la Renta number. It moves amazingly and the colours are popping with beauty! If we could all move like this and wear this gown everywhere, wouldn’t you feel like a true princess? I guess it’s just in the way the fabric moves!

Choices...

It came to my attention today that we all have a lot of choices, and consequently are drowned by them. Non uniform day on Friday brings a nightmare of decisions! What do I wear? Now, me being me, I tend to be able to plan an outfit pretty quickly. But, that's just who I am... a planner! So when I questioned my friends about their outfits for Friday and Saturday, they weren't sure yet, which evidently gave me the chance to plan with them! Now, we didn't really get anywhere, but they do now have a few rough ideas. But, it got me thinking. Why, if we have all the options out there, can't we make a decision? I have tons of clothes in my wardrobe, but still struggle to pick an outfit. In life, we all have to make decisions, but if our life had been different, would we make different decisions? What do we base our decisions on? Our life? Our situation? Or our future? If I never grew up in a loving house hold, would I still be as loud and bubbly as I am now? And if I didn't religiously read magazines, would I dress differently? Eventually, I came to the conclusion that our life reflects who we are and so the choices we make in our life, becomes who we are. Our choices come from our heart. And our heart is truly who we are. So keep making choices and being different, because if we don't, we'll never truly discover ourselves.

  Wrapping up for winter. As soon as the first sign of winter enters the world, a part of me gets very inspired. The girl inside of me, who adores fashion, starts coming up with millions of outfits! And the thing that gets me most excited, is layering up. Mixing colours to create a beautiful fire, and makes you pop against the snowy background of life. But what I love most is the mixture of beautiful dresses with edgy coats. The mix of fit and flare sits beautifully amongst the winter background. With tweed jackets being acceptable yet again and being able to dig out those old ankle boots for yet another year, the colder months are certainly my favourite. Curling up by the fire, families all together and not being able to stop smiling. Winter. It brings great families together and makes great designers flourish.

Cosy days

When you wake up in the morning and fancy porridge, you know it's going to be one of those days. A day when you just want to curl up on the sofa, with your hair in a topknot and no make-up on. But, of course it's always that particular morning that you have a billion things to do. I don't exactly have a billion things to do today, but one thing that will take up alot of my day. Revision. Just the thought of it makes me want to stay in bed all day, just to avoid it. And that's exactly what we can't do. The exams tommorrow; so I must put in all my effort in this last day to get it done. So, my day will consist of curling up on the setti, watching hours of f.r.i.e.n.d.s episodes, with a cup of coffee revising. It's not the perfect cosy day, but it's my cosy day. And just sitting in the house with jeans and an oversized cardi on, seems like the perfect Sunday. A day to me. 



Investment buys.

Investment buys: they're not too vogue. But when you have little money and accidently wander into the Henry Holland section in Debenhams, it's the mind set you must take. The glorious red bowed bundle was just staring at me; screaming with it's gorgeous tulle. I tried it on. With any luck it might look horrid on me. But, no. It fits like a glove, making me feel like a fashion guru. That was my moment to shine. So we must think tactically. 'Two outfits?' Em shouted at me.

It's an investment. Timeless, cute and fitted. Investment buys: they're not too vogue, but on a budget, they're your best friend!

Remembrance Day.

The Royal British Legion Poppy

The day in which we all stand and pay our respects. The day in which we all think about our country. The day we pay our respects to those who fought for us. If it wasn't for them, life would not be the same. It's a simple thought, with so many connections to it. Remembrance Day has a personal meaning to all of us and I’m sure we all felt strong emotions today. But, what I was wondering was why is it classed a sad day? I see it as a proud day for our country. The day the war ended. The day the Poppy's spread. And to represent this, we all wear a beautiful Poppy. To make sure I was being patriotic, today I wore my Poppy proudly. My gorgeous sparkly Poppy stuck to my school blazer and I was proud to be British. Thank you to all those who fought for us, spreading joy to everyone’s home. You did Britain proud!

Trust

Trust. Do any of us have one inch of it in our bones? We all keep things to ourselves, whether it's for our own good or for someone elses. Maybe we don't want people to know or were just scared to admit the truth to anyone, but ourselves. If this is the case, then why do we tell people things? Do we just want to get it our of our system or do we want the advice? I believe, we just want someone to clarify what were thinking. To tell us what we want to hear. And if they don't, do we instantly regret sharing our thoughts? If something is driving us so mad, should we tell someone? They'd give you advice and point you in the right direction, but what if it's not what you want to hear? Well you don't have to take it. Sometimes, you just have to share to get another point of view and take it from there. Sometimes it's good to have someone else in the same boat as you. Trust. I'd like to think we can all trust someone.

Do you like what I'm wearing today?

Do you like what I'm wearing today? Does it suit my body shape? Does it make my eyes pop? Or can you see right through it? Do you see what I want you to see, or what I'm trying to hide? The fear; the worry: me. Why can't we just be proud of who we are? We all try to hide something about ourselves. But what if someone notices? What if someone sees through all the positive attitude and smiles, to see what you're really feeling. If someone tells you exactly what you wanted to hide, how do we react? Do we shake it off and label it as ,'a lucky guess,' or do we sit ourselves down and give ourselves a break. We need to stop trying to hide the real us, because they're the elements people like you for. They don't like the fake positivity or the 2mm layer of makeup stuck to your face. They like you. They chose to be around you. Stop putting so much effort into hiding. If we hide everything, we just get even more stressed and tired. So stop. Step back and breathe. You deserve more then to hide.

It's out there...

In this world, we have all the opportunities out there. They're just waiting for us to go out and grab them, making the most of our lives. But sometimes, fear holds us back; keeping us from what we know we want. I know I want to write and am very passionate about it, but I fear. I fear that I'll fail. I fear that I'll be judged. I fear that it will be impossible. But, by starting this blog, I've already proved to myself so much: I can do what I want in life. My life is what I make it. Once I have grades and levels in the bag, I can go out and use them to my benefit. I will never loose my fear, but recently I have done so much to get my life going in the direction I want it to: joined the school's magazine, wrote a blog, religously wrote in my diary. And maybe these are just baby steps. But we all start somewhere, right? We all need to grow and we all start from somewhere. So whether you want to write your heart away, sing out loud or teach the world, you could start now. Go out there and make a difference: the opportunities are waiting for you!

The perfect cliché

If something is so cliché, it's cheesy, then why can you have the perfect cliché? Bending down on one knee; two long lost friend's reunion; the classic chick flick. As far as I'm concerned, these are just that: classics. Not fake. Not cliché. Just a perfect moment that makes you smile so hard, you just can't refuse it. And I ask, in this century, why can't we have perfect moments? What's wrong with that? In this world, we feel that simple things are no longer extravagant enough. Underwater proposals; skyping friends and having a bizarre twist in the plot are the substitute. And where's the fun in that? Don't let the moment get carried away, but get carried away in the moment. Stop looking for the new and settle for the classic. Because who knows? This could be your perfect cliché. Forever and ever.

Something new

Everything seems daunting at first. When we came into the world, we had to walk and talk; it took us a few years to master. Then, we had to learn to socialize with one another; we picked it up within half a year. Now were all preparing for exams and life afterwards, subsequently we picked up revision techniques and matured pretty quickly. Now I’m starting this blog and it seems like one of the scariest things I’ve ever thrown myself into. Putting myself out there to be judged and scrutinized. But, I believe everyone must make their mark in the world. Everyone is an individual and will shine in their own way; one way to do so is through our clothes. I see starting this blog similar to accessorising an outfit. You know what you want it to look like, but in the back of your mind you’re very aware that you may not find that perfect heel or the right necklace. And somehow this doesn’t manage to put us off. I know how I want this blog to sound, but I’m afraid I won’t have the naturalistic tones of a writer. However, over the years we’ve learnt that if we never attempt something, we will never succeed. And if we never make mistakes then we won’t enable ourselves to learn from them. If we never fell over we wouldn’t have supermodels. If we never say something we shouldn’t have done, we wouldn’t be able to cope in a social situation. If we never failed an exam we would never pass an exam. Therefore, if I don’t attempt a blog I’ll never be a brilliant writer.
