Outfits

Back into the circle!

This weekend, I spent a lot of time at home just chilling and generally being lazy! No surprise there. So, it was great to hear that my friends had gotten back from camping- seriously it felt like forever! I've literally been spending my days staring at the jubilee on TV and lusting after all of their outfits and the idea of getting to dress up for a full four days! But I pulled myself away from the TV long enough to go and visit Emma today. It seems silly, but it feels like I haven't seen her in ages seen as she has completely done with school (and I haven't quite yet) and then she went camping. Obviously, we had a lot of catching up to do and even more gossipping which was a lovely way to spend the afternoon!

We also took a lot of silly photos as I've decided that I've got to take more if it's true that there are in fact the best days of our lives! I won't be sharing these for obvious reasons though a.k.a because they're silly!

But, I will share my outfit photos! I finally convinced my sister to lend me her military dress and so I couldn't wait to put it on, and I also took the advantage to take some outfit photos! So here we are!

Dress: borrowed, Top: Dorothy Perkins, Scarf: New look, Bag and shoes: ASOS,
Necklace: accesorize, Flower broach: gift.
I hope that you enjoyed watching the diamond jubilee...it was truly amazing to see the Royal Family together celebrating such a special moment with the Nation!

Keep Dreaming xoxo

2nd Wave of excitement!

Yes, I know! Uncharacteristically, I've decided to post not one, but two times in one day! Why I hear you wondering? Because I have a new laptop (and I'm writing from it if you couldn't guess!) And I always said that when I got a new laptop that one of the first things I'd do is do an outfit post. I know it's been a while since I have so I apologise, but hopefully I'll be back on track soon especially since I have a lot of spare time on my hands now... which I am definitely not complaining about!

So, as you have all witnessed, the weather has been completely amazing recently particularly for England! I'm used to rain, so when a whole week of summery weather comes along I'm in shorts and flip-flops quicker then you can shout ,'Summer!'

So I went out with a few friends on Friday to sunbathe, we aren't very sporty so it was a compromise to our normal rugby which never goes down well. And then on the Sunday my friend Megan dragged me out! Literally. So we went for a stroll in the lovely sun and made friends with a pigeon! Unfortunately, I have not tanned in the slightest! But, I hope you enjoy the pictures! I hope you're having an amazing week! xoxo

That old shirt
Finally I have managed to take more outfit photos- yay! I love blogging and cannot resist taking outfit photos whenever I can, but always feel bad for asking my friends to take countless pictures of me, so firstly I must say thank you to all my friends I have ever put through the role of Poppy's photographer!
Shirt: New look, Dress: West One, Bag and Shoes: asos.
It surprises me that I'm actually sticking to one of my resolutions of wearing old clothes with different things, mainly so that I can save my money for a new laptop so I don't have to borrow my family's laptops all the time! I love this dress and have had it for a fair few years now, but got bored of wearing it normally so I thought I'd add this shirt to it and voila I love it!

I'm trying to grow my fringe out at the moment for my school's prom, but it's being a little stubborn and I'm finding it impossible to do anything with! It's too long to be a side fringe and it doesn't like staying in plaits either. Today I just curled my hair and put a few grips in to keep my fringe back. Has anyone got any tips on growing out a fringe?

I went shopping today with Amie and bought some new shades of nail varnish, the purple being my favourite! I also tried a gorgeous dress on, but resisted as I'm trying to save up...a phrase that I hate! I hope that you are enjoying your holidays! xoxo
Lost and found

I went off to town last Saturday for a drink with Megan from Oh Spiffing. It was great to catch up with Megan because although we go to school together, we haven't been out together in yonks! We did a little bit of shopping as well, I bought a new top from new look about New York (isn't that where everyone aspires to go eventually?) I also bought this months vogue, which I was very excited to find had four perfume samples in! I'm obsessed with vogue. It is fashion.

We were on the way home from out little shop when I realised that I no longer had with me my Dorothy Perkin's cardigan. I was devastated as it's one of those cardigans you can chuck on with everything!- and believe me I do. We had to walk all the way back into town to find it in the middle of the road with several tyre marks on! I was very excited to find it! My feet were in agony though, because I'd used my height as an excuse to wear my heals...today of all days! Tip of the day? Keep hold of your cardigans!!! xoxo

Style up
This is the last 'Friday night post' so we're coming to an end! Before the makeovers began we raided Emma's wardrobe. She pulled out one dress and asked us if we liked it because she was never sure how to wear it. So I took it upon myself to style up that dress! I had such a good time. It was a gorgeous dress (unsure of where it was from) with a white jewelled detail around the neckline, but it was mainly a shift dress. Because of this, it looked like it lacked shape so we decided it needed a belt! I chose a skinny black belt from Emma's wardrobe so that it didn't draw attention away from the detailing, but at the same time I wanted to clash that detailing with something, so I added an elephant necklace, but Emma had to adjust it to make it sit where I wanted it too. Lastly, I rumaged through her shoe box to find some khaki brown brogues. I really liked it and suprisingly so did Emma! Success! If you're ever unsure of a dress, just style it up and try different things. You never know, you may end up loving it! xoxo
P.s these pictures are pre makeover so excuse the hair and makeup! xoxo

Before and After
I went to my friend's house last Friday, Emma, for a girly night in and had to share some photos. We did before and after shots of our makeup as Eli made us over! We stripped down our makeup, mortified, and took the before pictures. I never usually go without makeup in public, but it was for fun, so I thought I'd post the horrific photo! I was planning on crimping my hair, but the crimpers were really testing my patience and I just couldn't wait a second later! Instead, Eli gave me a 50's makeup look and fluffed my hair up a little, holding it in place with hairspray! It was really quick, and I must say I felt a lot more comfortable with my makeup on! Eli also did Emma's makeup and hair, which also looked really nice. Once we'd decided on our outfits, we took a few photos for our blogs (I know, we're posers!) It was such a good night and enjoyed every second of it! We really ought to have makeover nights more often!

My dress is from Topshop, the belt is Emma's, the jumper is AWear at asos and the shoes are new look! xoxo

Another week, another party
Yes, that is another party! This week it was Emma's party who blogs over at if nothing goes right...go left. Her party was lots of fun and everyone had a great time! Happy birthday Emma! Also, it was Callum's birthday this week so I'd like to wish him a happy birthday as well! Wow...I think birthday season is almost over...which is great because I am exhausted! For Emma's present me and a couple of other friends, went in together to get her a phone. She's wanted a dial phone for ages and we have to visit it every time we go to meadowhall, so we bought it her. And no she can't use it yet...but in a few years she'll be able to! She did pretend to ring a lot of people though! It was a very good night and I really enjoyed it...
Also, I know I've already done my official '11 things' but emma posted one today and i reaaalllly want to answer her questions too! So, here is my second 11 things....(sorry)

1. What is your all time favorite Disney movie?
Disney!? ugh...not a disney fan...but I guess I like Araura!
2. What career would you choose if you could be anything you wanted to be?
Hmmm... tricky! Because I don't know. I'd have to say it would be ideal to be a fashion journalist...but that doesn't happen to everyone does it?
3. Where is the best place you have ever been?
Possibly Rosedale. It doesn't sound adventurous, but it's a tiny village which is pretty and the ideal place to live!
4. If you could dye your hair any colour what would it be?
Red! I reeeaaaallly want to dye my hair red!
5. What is your favorite piece of clothing in your wardrobe?
Hmm.... do I have a favourite? My new shoes! Do they count as clothes?
6. What would be your ideal lazy day?
Going out for a walk with my best friends and then partying the night away!
7. What is your favorite flower?
A Poppy....duh!
8. Who is your favorite band / singer?
I can't pick one! It'd have to be either Florence and the machine or Lana Del Ray or Coldplay or Snowpatrol or the script or the feeling...tooo many choices!
9. What do you look forward to everyday?
Putting my makeup on! I enjoy having a mini makeover and I hate going without it...I know...I'm vein!
10. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Before, I'd have said yes, but now I would definetly say no. Love isn't something that hits you! It grows very slowly, but it's like a rush!
11. If you could do anything at all in the world what would you do?
I'd travel to Ireland, then Brazil....but anything? I'd fall in love! I'm cheesy!

Now, I promise that I will never bore you with my '11 things' obsession again, I just could not resist! Out to the theatre tomorrow! Yipee! Have a fantastic week! xoxo
Iffy picture of me.... and the birthday girl!!!!!

There it goes again.

Dress: Henry Holland, necklaces: gift, accesorize, primark.
Tights/brogues: new look

Earrings: Dorothy Perkins
This dress has yet again seemed to jump into my wardrobe! It came to my attention this week that I spend hours talking about this dress, which gives the impression that I constantly wear it! I swear I don't, I've only wore it four times, but that does not cancel out my love for this dress. I actually feel sorry for the other dresses in my wardrobe...perhaps I should talk about them more! I find it really hard to take time to take my outfit shots as I am still at school, right in the middle of my GCSE's. By the time I've got home, all the daylight has dissapeared, so I guess I ought to take as many outfit photos at the weekends as I can. This outfit was for my friend's birthday party. She's one of the funniest people you'll ever meet and I'm lucky to have her as a friend. I guess I've been inspired by all the fashion blogs out there to mix up my outfits more, so I've started wearing more jewelerry to mix it up a bit! But, I seem to have misplaced all of my belts...either that or they ran away from me because I ignored them far too much! So this outfit is my gorgeous red dress with clashing lacey tights....who doesn't love a bit of lace? Also, I've added my rusty jumper, which I wouldn't normally put with red but it kind of worked, with my brogues and a clash of jewellery. I've just realised that I have been talking so much that I forgot to wish Amie a happy birthday (granted it's late, but I did tell her on the day).

I blogged a bit ago about my love for shoes and finding the perfect red shoe. I've found out that the asos shoe I posted about is my perfect shoe and soon shall become my prom shoe to go with my 50's style dress! I absolutely cannot wait till prom, and although some other people may not be, I'm really excited to see everyone for one last time! I think that prom is one of those things you just can't miss...I'm certainly not going to! With only about four months to go, I am literally counting down the days and hours left at my school. There's only a certain amount of time you can spend in one place! I guess when it's just exams, you get tired of it all. I literally can't wait till the weekends at the moment and really can't wait till I get a break from school. And once I do, it will take a while until I can ever where a blazer again. Yes it's a great fashion staple, but it is so school related and that's the last thing I want to think about at the moment! It's just a phase!

Jumper: AWear, nail varnish: NYC, Bracelet: gift
One last thing until I leave you to a peaceful Sunday (as it should be) is anyone else obsessed with awards ceremonies at the moment? I know it's the season and so it's probably a total cliche thing to say...but Ican't get enough of them! I love them, it's weird seeing your favourite actors up there in person acting well real. That sounds silly, but it's true, maybe we all prefer reality? Either that or we're just drawn in by the whole glamour of films x I'd love to know your opinions on that...I wasn't kidding when I said I was obsessed! Have a lovely, peaceful Sunday guys xoxo

In with the old...
Scarf:present from friend, shirt:new look,dress:h&m,tights:tesco,
shoes: new look.

Coat: Miss Selfridge, Headband: Topshop.

I guess I'm actually trying to save money at the minute for a new laptop, so instead of shopping as much, I'm planning on forgetting about the new and bringing back the old! So all of the clothes I wore yesterday, I got at least a year ago, but tried to mix them up a bit differently to create a brand new outfit! I had a few friends round yesterday, and we just did the usual thing a.k.a stuff our faces with food and sit infront of the tv for hours on end! But, we also decided that it would be quite fun to create a group blog! So, after a little convincing and a lot of deliberating over the name, we created Very Odd Socks! You can check it out at veryoddsocks.blogspot.com and we'd love to hear your feed back! It's basically just the three of us, blogging maybe once a week to have a space where we can blog about slightly different things and to just do something we love as one really! I also had chance to take some outfit shots yesterday, which are essentially my first real outfit shots that are outside and actually turned out half decent!

I hope that you check out Very Odd Socks, and I wish you a great relaxing day...unlike mine. Speaking of which, I guess I ought to get back to my work really xoxo

Valentine's day
Happy late Valentine’s Day! This is the one day that can either be overly depressing or fill you with happiness! Yesterday was a day that filled me with happiness because I spent it with friends. Spontaneously, we set off to Clumber Park yesterday and it seemed like a lifetime since I’d been there. Admittedly, a few childhood memories came back that weren’t as pleasant… I never realised how scared of swans I was! They’re beautiful until they give you dead eye (seriously). But, it was a beautiful day which just made the walk even better. The snow cleared up as soon as it came and it still had a bit of a chill in the air which was just beautiful, but the sun was out and shining brightly. It seems all I’m doing all week is going out, but I must spend time to sit down tomorrow and work since I have a tonne of it that I still haven’t attempted. Anyway, we took a few pictures yesterday and outfit shots that I thought I’d share. Hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day and that you spent it with the people you love xoxo
