Music

The Wolves.

Usually, when I'm addicted to a bunch of songs, I do a music round up! But, if I was to do that now all of the songs would be by Ben Howard. So instead, I thought I'd just dedicate a whole post to someone who I love at the moment! And yes it's actually modern music! The first song I  heard of his was The Wolves and I instantly fell  in love with his 'folky' voice. I'm such a sucker for anything with a little bit of folk mixed in!!! Luckily, I've just go my itunes set up on my new computer so I'll have to buy Every Kingdom in the near future! Possibly this week?!?! It's not often that you can say that an artist is even better live either, but I can honestly say that he is! If you didn't watch it, I suggest you search for him on Jools Holland's later. And he can't just make and perform amazing songs, but he can even make and otherwise cheesy song not so! I'm not going to say that I'm not slightly addicted to Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson, but Ben Howard's cover at the BBC Radio 1 live lounge was completely stunning!

If you haven't already heard his songs, then get searching! xoxo

Music I'm lovin': Round three!

I wasn't too sure what to blog about today! I'm going through a little bit of writer's block, so I may have to get back to just writing ideas in a notebook a little this week, but I'm sure I'll find my creativity again! Finger's crossed! So I decided to do another music post. When it's rainy outside and I have little to do (other than revision) the thing that gets me through is my music! I guess you're all very aware of my music choices now, even if it can be a little odd at times! So here it is...round three!

1. Kate Rusby- Elfin Knight

2. Imelda May- Knock 123

3. The Beautiful South- The Lure of the Sea

4. Fairport Convention- John Gaudie

5. Queen- I want to break free

6. The Beatles- Help!

7. The Beautiful South- Woman in the Wall.

8. The Black Eyed Peas- Where is the Love?

9. Snow Patrol ft. Martha Wainwright- Set the fire to the third bar

10. Corinne Bailey Rae- Put your Record on

I know, I know, I included two Beautiful South songs, but I'm slightly addicted at the moment  because I just added three albums to my itunes! And I couldn't stop myself from adding Kate Rusby because her music is perfect to revise too!!! Where is the Love has always been one of my favourite songs and the coaches performed it last night on The Voice so I had to add that to my list obviously! I just realised that none of these songs are remotely new! I'm really not with the times... my friend told me earlier that I'm shocking when it comes to modern technology! I think it's just modern anything to be honest! Have a lovely long weekend, and enjoy the jubilee! I'll be watching it all weekend! xoxo

Music I'm lovin': Round two!

I loved sharing with you some of my top tunes of the moment! And so I thought I'd make this a regular...when ever I'm addicted to some new (or really old) songs, I shall post about it. So here are this weeks top 10 songs:
1. Greenday- time of your life (good riddance)

2. Vanessa Carlton- Ordinary day

3. Kate Rusby- I courted a sailor

4. VV Brown- Shark in the water

5. Whitney Houston- I wanna dance with somebody

6. Marina & the diamonds- Shampain

7. Janelle Monae- faster

8. Cyndi Lauper- time after time

9.Rizzle Kicks- travellers chant

10. Carly Rae Jepson- Call me maybe

I'm aware that few of these songs are new, but hey since when was anything about me 'new'? Old clothes, old music... same old me!!!! I guess Kate Rusby is someone who I've grown up listening to and possibly where my whole love for folk music began so I will forever love her music for that reason! And Shark in the water is one of my favourite Ugly Betty episodes of all time! I can't believe that I gave in to the 'Call me maybe' mania that's going on at the moment, but hey! I hope to keep updating you with my music choices...I love hunting for them! Keep Dreaming xoxo

Music I'm lovin'
Regularly, I share with you a peak into my wardrobe and allow you to see the fashion side of my wardrobe, but very rarely do I share my musical sense with anyone. Like anyone else, I'm constantly plugged into my iPod and repeatedly bump into people because of it...! And I am definitely an example of changing style in my music, as I used to be obsessed with pop! Literally, I owned all the Pop party Cd's and loved singing along to 'dancing in the moonlight'. But, about two years ago I became more interested in rock and alternative music, which brought me round to listening to the Killers and the Arctic Monkeys. Now, I still listen to a lot of alternative music and even dip my toes into a little folk now and then (I seriously love the country sound!) So anyway...here are my top ten songs at the moment- in no particular order and not necessarily new- hope you love then!

Pokey Lafarge and the south city three
1. One Night Only- You& me.

2. Pokey Lafarge and the south city three- drinkin' whiskey tonight

3. Florence and the machine- Seven Devils

4. Paloma Faith- Stone cold sober

5. Imelda May- Johnny got a boom boom

6. Fun. Ft. Janelle Monae- We Are Young
Imelda May
7. Janelle Monae- Tightrope

8. Coldplay- Hurts like heaven

9. Gossip- Heavy cross.

10. Lana Del Ray- National Anthem

Hope you enjoy listening to some of my favourite songs! xoxo
