My Breakfast at Tiffanys.

Holly Golightly. If I could be one girl for one day, that is the girl it would be, as, I am sure, it would be for so many other girls. And why? If this girl is, 'frightened,' then why do so many girls see Holly, or Audrey as their icons? Is it the way she effortlessly walks through life, almost with no worries? Because we have seen that this is a lie. Her life is a worry. Or is it because, like me, you love her confidence? Her language? The way she manages to mantain her image at every given moment? For me it is her language. The way she talks seems almost poetic. The image portrayed in the opening scene is just beautiful, but it is nothing compared to the end scenes. The falling in love. The happiness. As she gets happier, her image seems to be more relaxed. From bouffant to pigtails. It's a journey, much like our own. And I am sure that so many girls out there are lusting after her life. But, do we not see that when we lust for such things, we become unhappy and so waste our life. When we accept that moment and just dream, our lives seem to sweep us up. Our dreams begin to come true. So if you too admire Holly Golightly, don't lust after her, but concentrate on being a better version.

New blogs

I absolutely love writing, which is why I started this blog, but I also absolutely love reading. I'm known for reading chick-flicks and very slowly as I seem to take ten times longer than everyone else reading a book. It's not just chick-flicks I read though, I also love reading fashion articles. I thought I ought to start reading more blogs for inspiration; so as you all know (as I never stop talking about it) I religously read Henry Hollands blog on vogue and I also read the fancy treehouse and temporary secretary as I just love seeing other people's outfit posts. So I found a blog called Delightful dozen which, if you haven't heard of it, is basically 12 fashion bloggers in one place (how fabulous) so I began to follow this blog and soon found alot of great bloggers. I'm currently addicted to Selective Potential and Delightfully tacky as I adore their style. But, Delightful dozen are always gaining more bloggers and so it's a great place to check out x Hope you love it as much as I do... after all reading is just as great as writing! xoxo

New year, new me, new wardrobe!

I know that this is extremely late, but it is Chinese New Year tomorrow so that is my excuse! I have decided that my wardrobe needs a bit of a change, but to do this I know I have to have something in mind. If you’re a regular reader then you’ll know that I am constantly wearing dresses and I hardly ever wear jeans. So this year I’ve decided I’m going to try and wear separates more often. Whether it’s my cute Miss. Selfridge jeans with a quirky new top or a skirt with an amazing blouse. But, it’s not just fashion that I want to change this year. It’s my mind set… so here are my new year’s resolutions.
1. Wear more seperates like...

Urban outfitters skirt. Very cute and fitted.
ASOS shorts.

Blanket top, Urban Outfitters.
Looking forward to wearing this with a plain top and cute jeans.

Love to wear this ASOS top with the cute shorts!
 2. I will be buying more Henry Holland designs this year as I have become obsessed with him! I recommend you check out his blog at vogue!

3. To continue to prospire! It has been my word for quite a while now and I definetly am not going to desert it this year!

4. I'm hoping to buy a new camera for my birthday this year, that isn't as tempramental as my current digital camera. This way I can take more outfit shots for my blog and also a camera is a very good fashion accesory! (Just look at Urban Outfitters!)

5. To watch more films... I have an obsession with the 50s at the moment so Grease is at the top of my list!

6. Not to desert my blog! I absolutely adore blogging and so I won't let you down!

Who done it?

Well it certainly wasn't me! It was Megan's party last night so I spent 3 hours (yes three) getting ready. But hey, isn't that the fun of going out? It was a murder mystery (as you all know) and I wore a cocktail dress by AX Paris and wore my hair high in a bun! Fabulous! So today I am shattered and trying to avoid every job I have by watching countless chick flicks...starting with the fabulous sex and the city! Because that's where my love lies! Just a few pictures from last night...
AX Paris dress...party perfection!!!!

The party people....yes that is the diamond doll far right!

Attention

Do humans live for attention? Someone said to me today that if they had no one in their life then they wouldn't know what to do with themselves. And I found myself asking the same question. Would I be able to manage alone? It seems every inch of our culture is surrounded by companionship. Sherlock Holmes would be nothing without Dr.Watson. Bridget Jones would be nothing without Mark Darcy; Kate Middleton and Prince. William. So do any of us own independance? Is independance simply surviving as a person? Or is it surviving as a person and not lusting for anything more? And if we don't lust for anything more, then maybe we aren't ready for life. So maybe attention is something that we all want. And if we can't get that attention, then we will just have to wait...

Last of the Christmas Money.

As you all know, I waste little time spending money, so I'm pleasently suprised that I still have some money left (even the amount is tiny!) Today I was on the hunt for a birthday present for my fabulous friend Megan and my hunt was succesful! But, I also needed a gorgeous dress for her Murder mystery in which I've been given the role of the failed actress/model who gets to wear a cocktail dress (yay). So today I bought a black AX Paris one shouldered dress from Newlook which came to just eight pounds due to my gift card, therefore noone can shout at me for over spending on a costume! I adore the beginning of the year because up till May, it's all my friend's birthdays which means I get to wear a dozen dresses and go to lots and lots of parties! Hooray for birthdays! Here are a few picures from earlier...the dress is topshop, bag asos, coat Miss Selfridge xoxo

Cordially invited...

I have been invited to my friend Megan's murder mystery and I can't wait! I've been to a murder mystery before and it was so much fun! I dressed up as a ventrilaquist...large orange jacket, puppet...the lot! I was not the murderer, I was just an innocent suspect with an evil puppet! This time the murder mystery is called Pasta, Passion and Pistols! I am to take the part of Christine Cooler, a failed actress and model! I'm very excited as it's a chance to go shopping for a cocktail dress and luckily I'm going shopping this weekend anyway to get Megan's birthday present! So, yes I will probably be blogging about my shopping trip. I must also apologise whilst I'm here for the lack of blogs in 2012, I went from a blog a day to maybe one a week due to exams. So my blogging might not be up to it's usual standard at the moment, and I do apoplogise. But, I'll definelty post my outfit from the fabulous murder mystery here after the party!

My evil puppet and I! (2011)
I can't believe it's only Tuesday! I'm already bored of this week. But, I get my maths results back tommorrow which I'm quietly excited about! I've also got a tech exam on Friday which I'm dreading, but all shall be good by Saturday when I'm shopping! I seriously think I have a problem...

Wave it!

Enrapture jumbo wavers
This month is based on the sea! Pearls, surfers, coral. It's the month to jump in the deep end and wave it! I've had my eye on a set of wavers a while now from enrapture. And this month it seems to fit in perfectly...it's the mermaid look! But then I thought about it. Why spend money on something I can achieve over night? A few plaits and twists here and there and I've achieved the wave, without putting in hours of waving; instead I've replaced it with beauty sleep (and we all know I need that !) So next time you try and achieve that magazine look, think about it before you attack your hair with heat. However, I may still have to save for those wavers! Ssshhh! xoxo

Escape

I recently bought this month’s Vogue, which was based upon escapism. The chance to escape to a new place. To be new; to be different. And if the chance was given to you to drop all expectations, to start over. Would you take it or watch it fall through your fingers? Escapism seems so simple and easy… the better of the two options, some may say. But who really has the heart to escape, to find a way out of this ever growing life? Every time we decide something we build on our complications, our relationships, and our mind. So if we decided to escape, wouldn’t we just be building on ourselves? Making a more complex human being, with a deeper meaning of life.  Maybe escapism does sound amazing, but in small doses. A holiday maybe. To loose yourself, just for two weeks and then return to reality. We all need a break and for a month Vogue is giving it to us.
