Hello 2013

So, a new year is upon us... yes, I am very aware that it is just like any other day, but it isn't because the year is different, so we do have to celebrate. Which brings to the question: what do I want out of 2013?

Well here are my new resolutions:
1. To spend more time in the kitchen. I got a lot of cook books for Christmas (are people trying to tell me something?!?!) and so I want to put them to use, whether it's baking or cooking I just generally want to be in the kitchen so that I can create something that everybody can enjoy.
2. I would love to get some work experience so that I can put that to use when I eventually get to University.
3. Blogwise, I'd like to take more outfit photos (did I say this last year?) so that I could do more outfit posts... maybe I should get more clothes?
4. I'd like to spend more time with my friends! It's weird, as we're getting older some of my friends have jobs, and we're all busy with A levels and by the time you've done with all of that plus family affairs, you have no time left... so I'd like to spend more time in coffee shops and vintage shops with my friends.
5. And mainly, I want to carry on being happy. This year wouldn't have been as good if I wasn't happy. Yes, some of the time I could've been a little more optimistic and some of the time I could have been more open minded, but that's what a New Year is for... second chances.

Happy New Year xoxo

Bye 2012

The end of a year is always quite a big thing, with new year celebrations taking over the post-Christmas blues. Anyway, I've decided to do two posts for the New Year... what I'm looking forward to in the New Year and what I've done this year... starting with my 2012:
You could say that my 2012 has been quite up and down. As the year started I was quite stressed with school, and I could not wait to leave! It's also all of my friend's birthdays at the beginning of the year, so that balance was quite nice between parties and work. And at the end of school, it actually all paid off so I guess I can't complain as I came out of my GCSE's with five B's and five A's. And obviously to celebrate we all went bowling which was again great to hang around with them again!

Also, we went to Rosedale and Porlock, one where the electricity went for three days and one where we managed to lock ourselves out of the apartment!

It's the second part of the year that hasn't been too good for me. I've already posted about this so I won't go into detail, but I've been quite ill through stress. (Gosh it sounds like my year has been filled with stress... I assure you it hasn't!) And also my cat had to be put down recently, which is always hard especially since I've grown up with her. But, I'm actually in quite a good place in my life, I've made it to my A levels, I am planning going to Uni, I have a fabulous group of friends that I wouldn't change for the world an excellent supportive family and after the end of this year, I'm pretty sure that things can only go up!

So... my best parts from the year:
Leaving school!
Movie nights
Having fabulous friends
Surrounded by a great family

Rockin' around the christmas tree...

Okay, so I'm a tiny bit late so what? But, Merry Christmas my wonderful readers! I hope that your Christmas day was just as good as mine. I know that everyone has said it, but isn't Christmas just the perfect time to sit around with your family (whom at any other times would probably clash) and play rubbishy board games and fall asleep in front of the TV. There's another great thing about Christmas, the TV is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Doctor Who, Snowman and the Snowdog, Call the midwife, Miranda... all in one place, who knew?!?! I don't usually watch Call the Midwife, but I must say I've discovered a cracker there!

So, my Christmas highlights?
-Penguin racing with the family
-Finally beginning to feel better
-Doctor Who Christmas special (it didn't let this nerd down)
-Being able to walk around the house in new cosy hats, scarves, gloves, boot tops etc.
-Being completely tired at the end of the day...and being able to stay in bed all day Boxing day!

I've also made a new musical discovery this week thanks to the DFS advert... so I did a little searching and found Miss.Li. My new favourite thing on my ipod and obviously I thought I'd share her amazing music:

(I also highly recommend ba ba ba)
and yes I did want to add more photos but it just isn't working!!!

Going, going gone!

So, after a lot of deliberation I finally got my hair cut! Okay, so the post title is a little miss leading as it isn't literally gone, but ya know... for me it's a huge step!

Spreading the Christmas cheer

Christmas is only nine days away! Which means, my house is now decorated - mini yay! Eli had a Christmas party on Friday, which was great to gather with the friends, as always, but for some reason Post 16 has taking all of my energy and so I was  practically falling asleep... not great! But, I thought I'd share my Christmas cheer in the form of photos...

I've been thinking a lot about time recently, and how we waste our life. I used to spend so much of my time wishing to be grown up, but you get here and it isn't always as good as you think it's going to be. So, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and also wish that you don't forget to live in the moment, because today is as good a day as ever! xoxo

Happy Birthday to youuuuu...

It's my sisters birthday today! (Mini yay)
It's so strange when a member of your family is celebrating something as big as a birthday when you're not there. In a way you just hope that they're having the best time possible, but you wish that you're there with them.
Well anyway... Happy Birthday Molly... hope you have the best possible day you could have had!

Cute cat moment....

We're walking in the air!

Someone brought it to my attention the other day that I haven't blogged a lot as of recently which I am very aware, so first off I am so sorry for deserting you guys! It's a mix of extreme tiredness, lots of work and Christmas preparation that has kept me from my laptop. But let's put the boring explanations aside, it's seventeen days 'til Christmas! I love Christmas... and yep, that is probably an understatement! What isn't to like about Christmas? It snows, you get to spend time with your family, Christmas trees are so pretty and you get to snuggle up next to the fire! It is so the best time of the year!
I downloaded an advent calendar for my phone, which is all sorts of awesome and I bore my friends with what I get everyday, but that's what friends are for!!! I also got a Christmas craft book which has paper chains and snowflakes and angels to make which I have already started and am loving it! Last night I went round to Megan's with my other gal pals to have a chit chat and watch some Christmas films which obviously gives you that Christmassy feeling!
Today I went walking and it was extremely icy! First of all, me and ice do not mix (I do a very good impression of a penguin on ice.... not purposely either), second of all, try walking up a hill when you're slipping back down it! It just doesn't work!We stopped of at the craft shop at Calver which is the cutest shop ever! It was full of Christmas goodies, so we spent a tiny fortune there... and then didn't know where to put it as our rucksacks were already full!
I'll leave you with my week in snaps (or should I say past few weeks) :
