'Counting cracks along the pavement.'

I love that I'm back to blogging, I've truly missed you all! And it also meant that I had the effort to take some outfit photos, yes yes I know I have a lot to catch up on but first things first! The blog title is a Lawson song, I thought it was about right to use a Lawson title seen as we went to see them last night (but more on that at a later date).

So I'm totes working double denim here! I love double denim, but I think it looks a bit odd if the denim is the same shade like I'm wearing today? Maybe my jumper helped break the colour up a little bit there!

I love these jeans and I got a hole in them a while ago and didn't fancy wearing them with a hole in them... I'm not really the ripped jeans type, it seriously doesn't go with my personality. So I thought I'd patch my jeans up instead! I'm glad you can't see really detailed photos here because close up the stitching isn't great (I can't really sew- apart from holes in my wooly tights!) But, I pinched these square fabrics from Emma ( who's currently fundraising money for her trip to Kenya if you'd like to take a look: http://emmainkenya2013.blogspot.co.uk/ ) and I think this suits my personality a lot more a.k.a a bit odd!

Anyway, it's lovely to be here again! Keep Dreaming xoxo

Paloma Faith

Easily the highlight of my week( even though it was now like two weeks ago). I went to see Paloma Faith in Sheffield on Monday with a few of my friends, and yes I was so tired afterwards, but it was so worth it! I literally have no words to sum up the performance... oh apart from her dress was amazing!

Also, yay technical problems gone... thanks everyone who helped/ offered me advise!

'The forest of talking trees'

Poppy: 0; Technical problems: 1.

It’s at times like these that I wish I didn’t completely repel technology, I guess I should get on the phone to some of my more technical-minded friends! It isn’t until something’s gone that you realise how much it means to you, and is it sad to say that I hate being able not to blog about all the things I have saved up on my laptop? In a way I really haven’t had time to blog, so the technical glitch came at about the right time, but I can always squeeze in a bit of writing can’t I?!? The half-term has nearly gone now and I haven’t had half as much time as I wish I had! Most of my time has been spent writing history essays or spending time with my friends, whom I wouldn’t change for the world, but I do wish I had a little more time to myself. Especially since I borrowed Funny Face from my friend almost two weeks ago and have only managed to watch half an hour of it! All of this being said, I feel pretty at peace with myself at the minute! Since I haven’t been able to share any of the things I’ve been up to I’ll give a quick over view… without giving too much away obviously (I like to keep you on your feet!)

-          I went to see Paloma Faith live! How was she I hear you ask? Incredible!

-          Shopping in Lincoln, oh how I love that city!

-          The sibling has been home and gone another whirlwind visit.

-          Have you tried Cadbury’s new egg and spoons? Oh my goodness, they are the next big thing!

-          I’ve returned to my centre parting… how I missed you!

      -          Have you tried apple and bacon on a pizza? It’s like the best!

So basically I’ve been eating, shopping and chilling by the sounds of things? That totally contradicts what I’ve just said!

Did any of you watch the BRITS? It’s weird, I think I said this about the same time last year, but I love award’s seasons, it’s just the perfect thing to kick back and relax to!

A slight glitch.

I have a tonne of things I'm wanting to blog about at the moment, and obviously have photos to accompany this (one of these being that I went to see Paloma Faith) but I'm having a slight glitch. So I can only apologise, I promise I will work a way around uploading photos soon- but it may take some time.
So in the mean time I thought I'd leave you with a little bit of my heart a.k.a my latest musical obsession Of Monsters and Men:

A little Pre-Valentine happiness...

Some people view Valentine's day as pretty depressing, maybe they're single or not with someone they like, but it isn't just about partners and that's what we forget, it's about love! Love for you're friends and family! That's why I think Valentine's day is the sweetest of all! So... yes I just said that it isn't about partners, but my Aunty Ann said something to me today which made me smile and she has the greatest of wisdom so I thought I'd share:
'They say that there's a Jack for every Jill and we find them in the most peculiar places, often when we're not even looking.'

'My feet are set for dancing'

I've been wanting to blog about this for a while (but obviously couldn't due to the fact that it was a surprise) but... we threw Eli a surprise party last night for her 17th birthday party! Hence the reason I'd been on a dress hunt. I also had my bouffant down... and then it went wrong on the night so I had to take it all out, great.

She was certainly surprised when she walked in, and I really hope that she had a great night- I did have fun organising it (although having said that I wouldn't do it again along side work!)

I love spending time with my friends, so Happy (early) Birthday Eli! xoxo

Grey clouds.

I'll be honest, even though some people love Sundays, I am not one of them. There's a tonne of work to do (school work and house work), you have to prepare for the week ahead and I don't even bother with make-up on Sunday... what's the point? Also, no one really blogs on a Sunday so I end up working through the day. So today on this 'disaster day' I thought I'd share a disaster recipe!
Even if you never give up, something has to go wrong at some point, and this week one of my recipes failed... yes I still ate it (of course I did- it was edible wasn't it?!?) but it didn't scream at me, and it certainly didn't go to plan.

I like my Wednesday afternoons as I'm home and I get the chance to kind of saunter through the day which gives me plenty of time to cook a yummy dinner. I tried to make a quesadilla (minus the cheese)... question, how am I meant to fry a wrap?!?! It just didn't work! The inside was nice, the wrap kind of ruined it if I'm being honest... inside I cooked some butternut squash with bacon and onion and then sprinkled it with paprika... quite yummy!

Anyway... after that little disaster, I had some wraps left so I made a salad and ham wrap- see there's a silver lining to every cloud!

Just little things...

I like to read, listen or view things that other people find nice and often inspirational so these are a few things I've been looking at as of recently.

1. Joy the Baker, her recipes are great (I plan to do a few as my resolution as you know). But, I really loved this little article (no I'm not twenty one, but I suppose they apply to life)

2. I've been crushing on this dress ( may have to buy it)

3. Inspirational quotes... you can never have too many things to make you happy!

4. We got the beat! Who doesn't like that song?!?!
I'd love to know what you've been browsing! xoxo
