How do we know if we're happy?

As people, we spend hours, days and even weeks building up a list of things that we want in life, some are added to our bucket list and some stay in our head. Get married: head. Glastonbury: bucket list. But, what happens if we never achieve these things? Is it enough to have the aspirations or do we actually need them? And if we get them, will they be as good as we imagined?
Right now, I'm in the middle of no where. I've started my A2 courses and I'm hoping to move to college next year; I'm in no mans land. But does this make me unhappy? As far as I'm aware I'm fine. But does fine translate to happy when I have none of my 'wants' in sight?
Everybody loves a bit of cheese... but it's true, you 'only hate the road, when you're missing home.' So, what am I missing? Or is that it... we'll just never know.

A Dedication...

I don't think I've ever dedicated my post to one specific person, maybe a group of people but never one person, but I just couldn't resist this dedication. I've been meaning to do this post for a while now, but I always wanted to wait so that I could collect more pictures and because I've been considering it for a while, I also thought of a range of names for this post... ones which I won't share due to cheesiness and also I don't want to die of embarrassment quite frankly.
Which is kind of why I'm dedicating this post to the girl I am, because she never let me forget the last post I did like this, I'm not going to name names, but you know who you are!
So.. to the topic: nails!
Since my last post, I've seen some pretty impressive nails out there whether it be on blogs, in magazines or on my friends which creates some serious nail envy! I've also bought a nail art pen from Avon, which I would highly recommend, the only thing is it doesn't clean with water... but if you just leave it to soak in some nail varnish remover for an hour or so, it looks brand new! So, I guess we could call this my nail gallery... (be warned some of these photos were taken in bad light- for example at sleepovers!)

And these are some of my friends nails which I had to snap obviously...

Perfect Pairing.

People are always on the look for that perfect pair, whether this be the perfect partner or the perfect shoe for that dress. But, is there really a perfect pairing for everyone? If you gave the same dress to ten people and let them loose in top shop, would everyone end up with the same outfit? Probably not. Because however much the outfit might suit Lucy, it's never going to suit you exactly the same way because you're different people, with different styles. So, is that the perfect pair for them or is it just how they end up? In fact, is there such a thing as a perfect pairing at all or is this just a fantasy built up in our heads? And if it is, will we therefore being setting ourselves up for misery?

Shellys

I don't have all the answers.

All I know is that we have our friends to help us through, especially if you're unsure on those shoes!

'I'm never changing who I am.'

I'm pretty sure that I'm never going to change: I've always been like a big kid... age is just a number right? And still every year I dread my birthday, I mean seventeen is halfway to thirty four right and there are certain expectations that come with every age... I've never been one to follow expectations (I'm a little odd in that way) Anyway, once again I've rambled completely off of point, which is, it was my birthday last month and unfortunately it fell on a Sunday (what a terrible day!) I was born on a Sunday too so I guess I've come full circle right? At least I'm good and happy, or so the poem goes!

Anyway, once my birthday did arrive I announced to my friends that I'd clearly need the whole week to celebrate my birthday (cause the one day isn't good enough right?) Unfortunately, I had five exams the week of my birthday so I did spend most of my time working, but in between I managed to spend some time with my friends.

Wednesday: i.e. indoor picnic day! Emma planned to go out somewhere, but when she looked it up the weather was meant to be awful and so she brought the fun inside and planned an indoor picnic which was lovely! She even brought the weeds inside!
(Yes, the last photo is amazing!)
Friday: This was the night my parents announced we were going to see Beauty and the Beast at Sheffield, which was lovely- especially seen as we hardly ever go to the theatre, and I love the theatre! Obviously I couldn't take any photos though!

Sunday: Birthday day! So, yes I'll be honest, I did revise on my birthday, but my friends also popped around which was lovely and at night I watched Les Miserable which was amazing (seriously love that film) it was a lovely day!

Ta-dah there's my Birthday week summary.. I was also reading an article earlier that me giggle as it sounds just like me and it did make me chuckle:

Catch up

I know I've got so much to catch up with! So first things first, I forgot to blog about my birthday (how do I forget such things?!?) so when I grab my laptop that shall be at the top of my list! 'Wait... You're not on your laptop' I hear you ask? Nope I decided to invest in an iPod touch and downloaded blogger onto here so I'm good to go! So yeah I'm currently being lazy in the conservatory sunning my legs!
So here are some snippets to catch you up (only since I started using my iPods camera though).
On a photo related note I also invested in a beautiful mess' photo editing app which is like a life saver... I'm in love with an app ( again, details to follow) enjoy...

Yep... The suns out!!
