The thrill
As human beings, we often get bored of the everyday things that we are meant to enjoy. I find nothing interesting or amusing about taking a nap in the middle of the day and I certainly cannot sit and watch TV every single day, all day! It's just not going to happen now is it? So people invent things to make our life much more interesting such as rollercoasters, moving house and dates (yes, I put them in the same category!). For me, the stress that goes into getting onto a rollercoaster is enough; I certainly don't need the illness I feel when I get off. But, we put ourselves through these things just to get out of our everyday routine. Apparently some people's lifes are just too dull. Recently, since leaving school I've witnessed both the positive and negatives of free time! It's brilliant when you're out with your friends, and you have plenty of time to do so. However, when you're bored to death and would do anything to go out and your friends are busy you literally would just sleep all day which can never be a good thing because this leaves you more tired, but with not desire to eventually sleep. So in my weeks off and the summer coming up, I plan on doing more interesting things to shake up my life! And I already have a list that goes from vintage shopping to ice skating or bowling! I guess we all need a little thrill on our lives (just not nessecarily a rollercoaster!) xoxo

Dreamer
When I was young (-er), we used to sing a song- in those dreadful assemblies where you'd always get awful pins and needles- about being down in the dumps. We've all be there, but how do we get through the dumps? Some people buy outrageously expensive clothes; some people take a long weekend to Paris. Me? I dream. Have you ever realised that your dreams are ten times better than reality? You're almost a superhuman version of yourself and all of your wishes are real. It's a great escape for anybody! But when you wake up you're right back in the middle of it all. It's even worse when you don't quite know what 'it all' is. Then I have no solution, but to try and smile. One step at a time, we'll all be back to being a hundred percent. Keep Dreaming xoxo

The modern day heroine.
I'm currently reading Pride and Prejudice and constantly watching Sex and the City. Both of which have outstanding lead females in the middle of a huge relationship fiasco. Elizabeth Bennett is seen as a young women who is constantly outspoken with views that were more than frowned upon at the time. And Carrie Bradshaw? Carrie Bradshaw is seen as the outgoing, single New Yorker who's views are worshipped and seen as miracles by many other single women around the world in her articles and more recent books. Years apart and authors apart, the same heroine seems to appear time and time again. A confident and very original single girl who is looking for nothing more than love. And of course, with this heroine comes their saviour! There ever reliant love interest who is constantly being misjudged by others, but only our heroine- and the few we- can see what happens behind closed doors. And it's not only our modern heroine that is relatable to, but also our (come on... they become our )love interests. Mr. Darcy and Mr. Big. Both completely drawn into their work or their hierarchy and constantly not trying to show their true feelings, but evidently no one can hide from it. Maybe times have changed at massive speeds and society has changed, no one can deny that, but still women are looking for that same four lettered word. Love. xoxo

What do you want?
A little birdie once told me that we should have everything we want in life. And don't we? If I want to change my hair, it's changed! If I want to write, I make the Red Flower and pour my heart out. So why can't we always decide exactly what it is that we want? Have you ever been in a gorgeous dress in a changing room, but yet there's been something wrong with the dress? It's perfect and you know in your mind that you want it, but there's something stopping you. Maybe that's because we don't really choose our wants, but - cheesely enough- they choose us? And that's what makes us us. I guess life is like a game and your job is to play to the best of your ability and accept that sometimes the game will win you. After all, some games are fixed. xoxo

And everyone's smiling!
I had a few of my friends around today in a desperate bid to try and kill our boredom! We've all been sat at home perfectly happy now that we've finished our exams, but none of us are actually willing to admit that we're dieing of boredom! And just to really drag that point out none of us are willing to plan anything just because we don't want to give into our boredom. Yes, we are in fact that determined! But hey, today it actually worked! Obviously, we started by catching up on gossip and having a good cuppa...well, water for Eli (shocking)! And then I dragged out 'Globe Trotter' which is pretty much twister, but in the shape of a globe and it's a bit harder because there's only one of each continent obviously! We were in some very compromising positions, and when we did collapse it's was due to severe giggling, although I swear my shoulder was about to collapse at one point! Oh and Australasia was dreaded, simply due to the distance from the other continents! Eventually, we moved onto the regular Just Dance competition which gets pretty heated! I must say, I really was not on form today! By the end of the day, we had killed our boredom and now everyone is smiling again! xoxo

Tying it together
Now that I've left school, I literally have the whole day to me! Which sounds great, but when there's just you and three cats in the house, you being to go a little loopy (as any 'cat woman' would) not to mention bored! It's great when I'm with my friends or out with my sister, but otherwise? I feel like a waste of space! There's only so many Gavin and Stacey repeats you can actually watch in one day! So I've decided to turn my attention to my slightly off season wardrobe! After all, it really needs a little attention! I'm really not in any financial position to go splurging on new clothes so it's a case of remixing! My first remix will be put into place on Friday night! I'm planning on mixing my very old, hardly ever warn, floral dress with brogue heals (I've been told to keep it casual and this is my interpretation of casual) curly hair and some quirky accessories! Maybe a clashing floral bangle? We'll see how it goes! If you've ever found with time on your hands and in a bit of a style rut, try mixing it up a bit! Get doodling down some ideas and you never know, your dream outfit could be in your wardrobe right now! xoxo

It's over.
Yep that's it! When you've spent five years in the same place, it gets a little boring! So thank goodness I've finally finished school! I've always said that I enjoy school and I honestly do, but at the same time it's so nice to have finally finished with my exams! Next step? Post 16. I'm getting closer to university! Yay! So now I can just enjoy my time with my friends! To anyone else who has finished their exams, have a good time and don't throw it away! xoxo

This Month's Vogue: Ageless Style
It's that time of year again when the Ageless Style issue comes out! And I think it's my favourite issue of vogue EVER. The same issue that sees Carrie Bradshaw's bridal shoot at 40 in Sex and the City (which by the way is a dream come true, but that's a different story). I've always assumed that Ageless style is having style at every age. But, what really is style? Style is brought to us by someone being adventurous and then it occurred to me that maybe ageless style isn't dressing amazingly, but actually dressing as the person you want to become. If I feel like being girly when I wake up, I know I have to wear a cute dress and if I'm feeling lazy, I reach straight for the jeans! But, ageless style is about being age and still being able to do that! I've been going on and on to my friends about buying a pair of 'granny shoes' which they find hilarious. But, my gran said to me the other day that she'd just bought a pair of little girly shoes (dolly shoes) so it's not just the younger generation that are trying to be stylish, but in fact everyone is! Ageless style is being able to keep your spark whatever your age, whatever your situation and whoever you are! If you think about it, it's genius! Keep Dreaming xoxo

The Wolves.
Usually, when I'm addicted to a bunch of songs, I do a music round up! But, if I was to do that now all of the songs would be by Ben Howard. So instead, I thought I'd just dedicate a whole post to someone who I love at the moment! And yes it's actually modern music! The first song I heard of his was The Wolves and I instantly fell in love with his 'folky' voice. I'm such a sucker for anything with a little bit of folk mixed in!!! Luckily, I've just go my itunes set up on my new computer so I'll have to buy Every Kingdom in the near future! Possibly this week?!?! It's not often that you can say that an artist is even better live either, but I can honestly say that he is! If you didn't watch it, I suggest you search for him on Jools Holland's later. And he can't just make and perform amazing songs, but he can even make and otherwise cheesy song not so! I'm not going to say that I'm not slightly addicted to Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson, but Ben Howard's cover at the BBC Radio 1 live lounge was completely stunning!
If you haven't already heard his songs, then get searching! xoxo

Chat time!
It seems bizzarre (especially seen as I haven't even completely finished school yet) but when you leave school, you seem to see your friends less and less. Well I certainly have anyway! So it's great to have a bunch of friends around and to have a much needed girly chat! And it's even better when you throw in a brand new toastie machine! Yes, we bought a new toastie machine yesterday and to be honest I'm obsessed! So we just had to have toasties for dinner whilst we chatted! We had a fair few combinations actually:
Cheese and tomato
Ham, cheese and tomato
Ham and cheese
Cheese, onion and tomato
I can't wait to try more combos! I'm think cheese and tuna? I've been told it's nice! Anyway, to avoid going on and on about toasties, I'll leave it at it's my new food obsession!
Obviously, my friends had to see my prom shoes and they had to raid my stack of heat magazines! I got them back though by taking lots and lots of photos! I'd post a few, but I know they'd all hate me for it!
So, if you're ever in need of a girly chat, call up your friends and have a laugh

Back into the circle!
This weekend, I spent a lot of time at home just chilling and generally being lazy! No surprise there. So, it was great to hear that my friends had gotten back from camping- seriously it felt like forever! I've literally been spending my days staring at the jubilee on TV and lusting after all of their outfits and the idea of getting to dress up for a full four days! But I pulled myself away from the TV long enough to go and visit Emma today. It seems silly, but it feels like I haven't seen her in ages seen as she has completely done with school (and I haven't quite yet) and then she went camping. Obviously, we had a lot of catching up to do and even more gossipping which was a lovely way to spend the afternoon!
We also took a lot of silly photos as I've decided that I've got to take more if it's true that there are in fact the best days of our lives! I won't be sharing these for obvious reasons though a.k.a because they're silly!
But, I will share my outfit photos! I finally convinced my sister to lend me her military dress and so I couldn't wait to put it on, and I also took the advantage to take some outfit photos! So here we are!
I hope that you enjoyed watching the diamond jubilee...it was truly amazing to see the Royal Family together celebrating such a special moment with the Nation!

Music I'm lovin': Round three
I wasn't too sure what to blog about today! I'm going through a little bit of writer's block, so I may have to get back to just writing ideas in a notebook a little this week, but I'm sure I'll find my creativity again! Finger's crossed! So I decided to do another music post. When it's rainy outside and I have little to do (other than revision) the thing that gets me through is my music! I guess you're all very aware of my music choices now, even if it can be a little odd at times! So here it is...round three!
1. Kate Rusby- Elfin Knight
2. Imelda May- Knock 123
3. The Beautiful South- The Lure of the Sea
4. Fairport Convention- John Gaudie
5. Queen- I want to break free
6. The Beatles- Help!
7. The Beautiful South- Woman in the Wall.
8. The Black Eyed Peas- Where is the Love?
9. Snow Patrol ft. Martha Wainwright- Set the fire to the third bar
10. Corinne Bailey Rae- Put your Record on
I know, I know, I included two Beautiful South songs, but I'm slightly addicted at the moment because I just added three albums to my itunes! And I couldn't stop myself from adding Kate Rusby because her music is perfect to revise too!!! Where is the Love has always been one of my favourite songs and the coaches performed it last night on The Voice so I had to add that to my list obviously! I just realised that none of these songs are remotely new! I'm really not with the times... my friend told me earlier that I'm shocking when it comes to modern technology! I think it's just modern anything to be honest! Have a lovely long weekend, and enjoy the jubilee! I'll be watching it all weekend! xoxo

What to expect...
Today I took a trip to the cinema with two of my best friends to see What to Expect When your Expecting! It was soooo sweet! If you stop and say,'aw,' everytime you pass a baby, I really recommend this film!!! And it wouldn't hurt to take some tissues! It's been a very long time since I finished watching and film and realised that I was smiling the whole way through! It was the ultimate Rom-com. However my friends, who perhaps aren't as prone to baby awwing as me, didn't find it overly fascinating. At least it was a nice trip! Those two never fail to make me laugh (mainly because they're overly sarcastic) and I love them to bits for it! I'm getting used to the normal English weather again a.k.a miserable! But, it was nice whilst it lasted! I hope you have a lovely weekend... unfortunately I have a lot of revision ahead this weekend, but then it's the Queen's jubilee! That means BBQ time!!! Happy holidays :) xoxo
