Literature.

One of my new things for this year... to keep you up dated with what I'm reading, as it often reflects in my mood! I am taking an AS level in English Literature, which (yes, I'll be honest) I'm terrible at! I love reading - normally chick flicks admittedly- but when people ask my why I think that the book draws in the reader, my mind tends to trip and stumble.
If you asked any of my friends, they'd laugh at the though of me and reading, not because I don't read or I can't read, but because I take months to read a book. Okay, so if a book is really good I could finish it in a week, but if I'm only moderately interested in the book, I'm going to take my time. My pet hate is skim reading, you take nothing in from the book what so ever and you may as well just stare at a wall for a few hours. I like to get to know the characters in the book. As I mentioned, I'm normally glued to chick flicks although English Lit has made me venture into The Kite Runner and The Great Gatsby.
One woman that I'm convinced could write anything and I'd be addicted to it, is Elizabeth Noble... she is a genius! I first stumbled across  her when I read The Girl Next Door and I just loved the way that she set the entire book out and I found the story fascinating from start to end. Last year I borrowed Alphabet Weekend from a friend and yet again loved it!
But, I was in our study last night and came across the book that I loved to bits. Love letters by Katie Fforde. Question- why are all good books or films set in Ireland?... that is the ones that I really love. I swore that I was Laura at the end of that book and head over heals in love (sorry- that was a spoiler!?!?). So, I thought I'd pick another Fforde book to read, so I chose Wedding Season. If you haven't guessed from this post alone, I'm a hopeless romantic and so a book about weddings? Could I really go wrong? I'm hoping to love this book just as much as love letters so I shall keep you posted xoxo
