As a Gilmore girls fan, I’m a believer that friends will
always be there for you, through thick and thin, and if they’re not? Are they
really true friends? As a pretty average seventeen year old, I’ve had my fair
share of friends. Some that I’ve lost (and tears followed; others not), some
that faded away, and some that stay very close to my heart. I truly believe
that friendships shape the person you are, but that doesn’t always mean that
the relationship you have with your friends is an easy one. Sometimes TV
programmes and books set us up to believe that it’s the relationship we have
with possible love interests that are the hardest, I disagree. In a sense,
there will always be someone in your life who is that guy but there aren’t necessarily always friends in your life
which is why you have to keep your friends close. It’s easy to compare your
friendship group with those of your idols, but it’s really about who each
individual is, and even deeper, who you are when you mould together. God knows
that I and my friends have been through our ups and downs… I’ve had friends
that I haven’t spoken to for a year and then the next minute it’s all in the
past, and friends that have made me cry with happiness and then there are those
times where that guy lets you down
and you need them for some serious advice. I
guess what I’m trying to say is that some friends will come and go but
you’re true friends are just a phone call away and at the end of the day, it
isn’t a case of will they be there for you, but a case of will you be there for
them?

Me.
Watching...
Well, pretty much all day yesterday I was watching the doors of The Lindo Wing, waiting for little baby Prince to come out of the doors. I'm not sure if I'd call that patriotic, or in love with babies? Either way it was a very historic event and I was able to witness it live on TV. Definitely not a moment to be forgotten.
Reading...
After finishing Wedding Season I swiftly moved onto reading Living Dangerously... it's about a girl potentially turning herself into a cat woman, great fit right? Anyway, I'm Katie Fforde obsessed is pretty much what I'm trying to say, it's a high recommendation!
Listening...
Apart from more and more Haim? A little bit of You've got the love (sex and the city inspired- final episode) and Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros... makes me smile every time!
Doing...
Baking, exercising and reading! I know, I'm a changed woman! Honestly, I'm missing my Kenyan adventurer very much so I'm trying to keep very very busy! I believe the crafting may commence next week.

Summer days
That's it. Another year of education done. Funny thing is, I don't really feel anything. Usually there's a feeling of sadness or relief... or something! But not this year, maybe it's because I'm in an odd place in my life... where I don't know where my next step will be, but strangely I'm happy at this point in my life. So on Saturday, Megan and I headed out for what we thought would be a sunny day in Clumber. Disappointingly, the sun didn't follow. But nevertheless, we pretended the sun was out whilst we watched dragonflies dance about whilst eating our ice creams.
It was one of those well earned days, after a very long week! I didn't wear anything special... just a summery shorts outfit which it turned out I could have done with some jeans on, but hey ho!
Friday night was spent waving off my friend, Emma for Kenya. She's off doing some amazing work over there with Camps International and I wish her the best of luck on her journey, and I'll miss her a tonne!
So, here it is... the start of the summer.

May I borrow your wardrobe?
No... I didn't forget that it was Wednesday yesterday, how dare you accuse me of such things! Anyway....
Miss Knightley. I've literally liked Keira Knightley since first seeing her in Bend it like Beckham and P.S I love you. I've loved her since watching numerous period dramas.... of which she stands out most in Pride and Prejudice. Pride and Prejudice as a book, was on that I loved and couldn't stand all at the same time, I think it was it's association as 'great literature' which I seem not to like! Anyway, point being, it was Keira Knightley's portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet that made me completely admire her character as an actual real strong independent female character in the world of literature. And her outfits are pretty fabulous too!!!

May I borrow your wardrobe?
I think I've broken the rules! I chose three people this week, or should I say three sisters, otherwise known as Haim. Or to me, my new favourite obsession. Yes, I perhaps say I have a new musical obsession every week but that's just because I'm literally crazy for music. You know those people that say they couldn't live without music? I'm pretty sure I'd say that deadly literal! These girls are the coolest people in the music industry at the moment as far as I'm concerned: I'm hooked! And that means I'm also hooked on their outfits! Okay, so no they don't dress like I would, in fact it's completely different but I think that's what I love about them! They're all so edgy. One thing though, I have hair envy... I love their centre partings and how long their hair is! I also like how 'real' they are. So there you have it.... oh and have a listen below !

Past lives.
In this ever changing world, we're continually growing into a bigger community; a community of larger beliefs and larger personalities. But are the two connected? I've always classed myself as a Christian, but 'real Christian's' would probably look down on my generalisation. I don't attend Church, I don't pray but I believe. The thing is... can religion be a mix and match scenario? Buddha spent years looking for enlightenment and if he gave to others as a pose to himself in the current life, he would live a much better next life. And assumedly, each time you'd build on your personality...but this being said, does this mean that our past lives are a bigger influence than our current environmental influences?
I guess I'm pretty naive. I'm a girl living in a tiny town with a small loop of friends that likes to party when the occasion arises. I don't like getting in too deep... the first sign of uncertainty or worry and I'm out of their, I've always said that this was due to my upbringing and the general person I am. But what if this isn't the case at all? What if I'm in fact an evolved model of my past life? Maybe I'd had my heart broken one too many times or maybe I was sick of having people to rely on. So I evolved... I evolved into an independent; someone who's rather happy in her own single little bubble living her life through her mind and sharing her thoughts through her keyboard. And if this is the case, is evolution bad or good? Dinosaurs became extinct... they evolved 'out' but does this mean they weren't suitable?
I'd class myself as a suitable person. No, I may not be following the society friendly ways of a girl my age. But, does evolution mean that I can evolve beyond my expectations and just settle for me?

Just close your eyes dear.
Sarah McLachlan. Do you know when some people see something or hear something and it instantly reminds them of something that has touched their heart so close? Well, this song is one of those things...it was featured on one of my favourite TV programmes of all time, and one that not many people know about in truth. Due South, it was about a Canadian Mounty and he moves to America and starts working with the FBI, oh and he has a cute dog. Anyone who knows me, knows that that description isn't typically a 'me' programme, but it's probably in my top five!
The thing is, it isn't on much nowadays, although we do own the entire series on videos (but who honestly still owns a video player?)
I couldn't explain why I like this programme so much, as I said it isn't something I'd usually watch and to an outsider it's probably just a cop series, but it isn't, it goes a lot deeper and I think that's what I like about it....
it's an oldie but a goodie! I recommend it with my whole heart.

p.s... look up the song 'possession'

May I borrow your wardrobe?
I figured, it's a Wednesday right? I have time on a Wednesday and it's important for me to spend lovely time to myself. So, here it goes... it's an exclusive Wednesday thing, and if I forget no one can judge! With all of this said and out of the way...
Who's wardrobe do I want to borrow this week?
Miss. Sarah Jessica Parker. Are you really surprised? I have so much respect for this woman, a husband, three children and she still looks so fabulous! I could only wish to look this good from day to day, night to night. I figured she was the perfect woman to kick off with, she has practically made a generation of women. Whether it be on sex and the city, or whether it be at premieres or the school run, she looks amazing. So, Sarah Jessica Parker I could only wish to borrow your wardrobe!

p.s I own none of the photos above.

No matter what.
That’s what we all look for in a partner… acceptance no
matter what. And it works both ways, you can’t just hate the guy- it’ll never
work! But what we forget is what we all strive for in that perfect partner we
can always find in our friends. Some friends are the types that come and go,
the ones that you’re close with for about six months and then fall out with-
it’s like we’re dating potential friends, and the ones that don’t fit, slowly
fall. But every now and then, as with dating, you come across a friend that
will be there for you no matter what, and you’d be there for them. You’ll be
crazy with them, get drunk with them, cry with them and support them when
they’re down in the dumps. And that’s the greatest thing in life, that some
friends are there no matter what. So don’t take advantage of that.
