I guess that all women have several wants. We want to push away the sexism of society, yet become domestic goddesses. We want to be single and free, yet to have the most loyal family imaginable. And we want to have those glossy red stilettos, yet save our feet.
But we all love vintage. Why is it, that we are so willing to live in the past, but avoiding the now? We'll happily grab our keys or strap on our aprons, but when facing the new...
The trends
The relationships
The opportunities
... we're hesitant to dip our toe into the pool of possibilities. By trying to be vintage quirky, are we becoming clones? Clones of what has been rather than what is to come. And how can we break this chain? It's great to keep a little bit of history into our lives, like that vintage badge or that second hand book, but when does a little bit of history become too much? Sometimes we have to whip out the old memories, to see how far society has come and how far it has to go. Who knows, maybe then women everywhere will have a choice... single or married, shoes or feet, strong or a cleaning whizz! And maybe, just maybe we could choose all six as our society shapes the new vintage. xoxo
P.s I'd like to think that my phone is well on it's way to being the new retro!
