I am sat writing this post in the dark (mainly because I can't be bothered to get up and turn the light on) in my study with the rest of my possessions. And to be fair, I am feeling a little lonely. But, I guess to get a perfect finish you have to have an imperfect journey. I decided that my room was in drastic need of a makeover when I realised it hadn't seen a fresh layer of paint since we moved in five years ago and I had yet to put my stamp on it. The rest of the house screams of my parents style, which tends to be browns and creams, mainly modern with the odd bit of wear and tear creeping in as their tastes change. But my room was pretty much, magnolia walls and red accessories.
So, as the next layer of magnolia is being added, I thought I'd let you know my plans. I've never had wallpaper before, but I thought it would be a good idea to put some wallpaper onto one of the walls. Home comforts, is the name of the floral paper that I chose. Also, my Mama has given me a clock that I saw whilst I was at her house, and she told me that it never did fit into her house... and wallah it fitted perfectly into my little haven!
Obviously, I wasn't planning on stuffing some wallpaper up and calling it a day; so I've been collecting a lot of little bits and bobs such as photo frames for all my old memories of family and friends. I've also found things like keys from vintage shops and birds that I've sewn together from garden centres to make my bedroom a little safe place... a piece of my heart, for me to spend my days writing, reading and smiling.
Who knows, I might even sleep in there!
